1. Where are you located?
We are located in Southern California, near Loma Linda, CA (Reche Canyon) off the 10/215 freeways.

2. Are your dogs American Kennel Club (AKC) registered?
Yes! All our dogs are AKC. Pedigrees are available on request.

3. Do you have other kinds of dachshund puppies, like smooth-haired or standard size dachshunds?
Yes and no. All dachshunds are soo cute! However the creams have stolen our hearts and we have decided to only specialize in the long-haired English cream miniature dachshund variety. Our cream fur-family includes mostly long-haired pale creams, some shaded creams, black and creams, pale cream piebalds and a couple silver dapples. We also occasionally have other colors and short haired dachshunds as part of our extended Cream family. Feel free to check in if you’re looking for a particular color.

4. How much do your puppies cost?
Our pricing for shaded and pale creams range from $3700-4500 depending on coloring. The other colors, including black and creams, dapples etc are priced higher or lower. Please contact us for specifics and other details.

5. Will I get AKC papers with my puppy?
No, we do not provide AKC registration papers unless we receive proof of spay/neuter. We offer our puppies as pets only. We can provide you with a limited AKC application for your puppy after spaying/neutering if you request one before puppy is 1 years old.

6. Do you offer a health guarantee?
Yes! We offer all new puppies a 1 year health guarantee against any life-threatening genetic defects through Nu Vet (please ask to see contract if you’re interested in this). Feel free to contact us for more information on Nu Vet supplements and other ways they can benefit your puppy.

7. Why do some puppies have the tear stains on their eyes?
We get this question a lot, and the short answer is it’s genetic but does eventually go away on it’s own. From our experience over 97% of puppies eventually outgrow them, usually once they’re 4-5 months old. Our vet says it’s teething related, and we’ve also heard they’re caused by immature tear ducts. About 50% of our pale cream puppies have tears at some point starting at around 4-6 weeks old.

8. I want to get a puppy but can’t decide between a boy or girl. What are the main differences?
In general, the biggest differences with this type of dachshund are energy level, training and size. Girls can be easier to potty train and tend to be more energetic. Boys are usually more low-key/laid back and calmer. If there is a barker, it tends to be a girl more often than not. Boys run larger, around 10-12 lbs on average. Girls usually mature under 11 lbs. If you’re looking for affectionate, silly and sweet – there’s good news! Both boys and girls are generally good natured and loving.

9. Do cream longhaired dachshunds shed alot?
No they are not a high shedding breed. If you have been around a Golden Retriever you understand what a high shedder is but dachshunds are in between, not high shedders but you will want to keep a lint roller handy if you plan to wear black.

10. I have a dog already at home, should I get a boy or girl puppy?
We hear this question a lot, and the truth is we have seen two neutered boys do excellent together or two spayed females be best friends. Boy/girl combos do amazing as well, it really comes down to your preference and if your existing older dog does better with one or the other. There is no hard and fast rule with this breed about what gender to stick with when adding another dog to your home. Of course this is assuming they are spayed/neutered which we highly encourage as part of responsible pet ownership.

11. When should I spay/neuter my dachshund?
Many vets will encourage you to spay/neuter your puppy as early as 6 months of age. Waiting until they are full grown, or around a year old is highly encouraged though based on everything we’ve heard about their growth plates and giving your dachshund the best shot at a healthy back. Waiting until closer to a year old would be our recommendation and is supported by many vets as well.

12. How much is a puppy deposit?
The deposit is 25% of the cost of the puppy, with the balance due in full at pickup. We cannot hold a puppy without a deposit, no exceptions.

14. How many deposits do you take per litter?
We take 1-2 deposits per gender, per litter. Deposits are first come first served, and adds your name to our waiting list for a specific timeframe. We will move you up if there is availability sooner, unless you have asked otherwise. If there is no puppy born of your desired gender/color in the specific timeframe your deposit is on, you receive your deposit back or have the option to roll it over to the next availability. Besides that, all deposits are non-refundable (please don’t ask us to return it! We hate being the bad guy but this is non-negotiable).

15. Can I visit the parents of the puppy before I put a deposit down?
At this time we are not accepting visitors but hope that can change soon. We normally love visitors. Contact us to make an appointment and we may be able to work out a time in the future that works for all of us.

16. Can I come choose my puppy in person?
We ask for families to pick out their puppy via photos, videos and a description of personality as they get older. We are doing everything we can to keep our puppies healthy and safe from exposures and do not accept visitors until puppies are 12 weeks old.

17. At what age do I get to take my puppy home?
Puppies go home at 8 weeks. Puppies cannot go home earlier than 8 weeks old.
